Do you have a child that experiences BIG emotions? Or maybe you have an adolescent that is “falling apart”. Perhaps you are just looking for a sounding board to help you navigate the hamster wheel that you are on. Whether it is emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, or coping strategies, I am here to walk alongside you on this path.
I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist located in Fort Saskatchewan. I have been working with children, adolescents and families for over 20 years in a variety of settings such as group homes, schools, headstart, respite and therapeutic day programs. While my primary focus is on children and adolescents who struggle with social, emotional, and or behavioural struggles at home, school or community, I also have a heart for working with young adults and families.
My therapeutic approach is non judgemental and insightful as I believe the counselling relationship is a collaborative one, where I help others to strengthen and or develop new skills for their “tool box”. I primarily work from a cognitive behavioral, solution focused, or person centered perspective. Depending on the client I may also draw on strategies that are mindfulness based, therapeutic play, dialectical behavioural or spiritually augmented in nature.
Life is full of curveballs. Sometimes we see them coming, and sometimes they can throw us for a loop. Either way, life is a journey that we have to navigate, and sometimes we need help along that path.
