The salt of life is inherent in every human. Although it may seem to disappear, like when dissolved in water, it does not cease to exist- we know it is there by the taste of water.
I am a registered provisional psychologist with extensive experience working with ethnic diverse as well as mainstream populations. With an understanding that stress, physical and emotional pain, trauma and other overwhelming experiences are unavoidable parts of life, my role is to help you learn ways to respond to these experiences in ways that are healing and strengthen your inner resilience. I will work with you through your process of self-discovery, self-acceptance and self-compassion, in a safe, supportive and non-judgmental environment. My approach is resilience-focused as I believe every individual has the inner capacity to heal and grow.
My work is integrative and multiculturally-informed and draws from trauma-informed somatic approaches, cognitive behaviour therapy, multicultural therapy techniques, mindfulness and play therapy modalities. I work with different age groups including children. When working with the child, I support the caregivers as well as structures directly involved with the child by providing consultation, feedback and strategies to provide scaffolding the child needs to grow and thrive.
