Ngozi Ivare, MSW,🌈
I am a Nigerian-born Registered Social Worker with Master’s degree from Dalhousie University, Nova Scotia, Canada. I am a community mental health therapist who believes that people living with mental health challenges need to be supported with resources they need to navigate their challenges.
I believe that you do not need to go through those overwhelming life challenges alone and be feeling worthless, hopeless, pessimistic or a failure in life because you are bigger than your problems and challenges! I strongly believe that you are the expert of your lived experiences, and you know what you need best to navigate your challenges.
My goal is to collaborate with you respectfully and empower you with renewed insight for healing and help you hope for a better tomorrow. My practice approach is meeting my clients at where they are and provide each person a safe, unbiased and respectful space needed to allow collaboration and healing.
As a Registered Social Worker, my professional trainings and work experiences have positioned me to support my clients in unpacking their challenges through renewed insights to allow healing. My passion is working with individuals living with mental health challenges-anxiety, depression, stress, insomnia, grief, PTSD and many more.
My practice approach is to first see the person before the problem and holistically use different practice models like Person-Centered Approach, Strength Based Approach, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Trauma Informed Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Anti-Oppressive Approach, just to mention but a few to support my clients.
I know that seeking help can be very challenging during difficult times, hence I come from a position of empathy and compassion during practice to meet the needs of my client. I can also offer spiritual and culture-informed therapy. I am also very passionate about the mental well-being of immigrants and refugees.
I look forward to partnering with you on your healing journey, to be better positioned to achieve your healing goals. Healing is possible for a better tomorrow with renewed insight.
