“I operate using a culturally sensitive lens and understand how important faith can be to some people. I incorporate aspects of my client’s unique cultures into therapy as they request. This enables me to build rewarding, therapeutic relationships with my clients. My goal is to meet my clients where they are”, (Atsimbom).
No matter where you are on your journey or what challenges you’re facing, you are welcome here—exactly as you are. I strive to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and understood, with trust, authenticity, and cultural understanding at the core of my approach. My practice is rooted in an anti-oppressive, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and intersectional lens. I am deeply committed to working with individuals from all walks of life, with a particular passion for supporting Racialized and LGBTQIA2S+ communities. Whether we believe it or not, our lived experiences have created a core belief about ourselves and influences a core language we use to describe ourselves, which prevents us from being our authentic self or the desire to change. Here’s a truth, you have permission. You have the permission to change, to grow, to develop, to advocate for what you need, create new habits and, to unlearn and learn again. The beauty in the journey is you don’t have to do it alone and I’m here to journey with you.
I believe that you know your story best. Utilizing modalities such as CBT, Solution focused and Narrative therapy to support you bringing meaning to your lived experiences. I support individuals with navigating through life transitions, anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, spirituality, trauma and more.
It is my desire to hold space for you in the therapeutic relationship and that you feel heard, validated, affirmed and at times challenged all in a joint effort to get you where you want to be holistically.

thoughts everywhere? Do you communicate and do not feel heard? Are you looking at improving your self-esteem, parenting style, sex life, or general well-being? Are you looking at reducing stress, or treating anxiety and/or depression?

“The journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step “- Lao Tzu Let’s take that first step together.
I believe that life comes with a myriad of experiences, some of which can be painful, confusing and devastating. Sometimes we encounter situations that seem impossible to overcome. It may be difficult to confide in others for fear of judgement or loss of approval. Sometimes we find it difficult to be vulnerable because we fear that others may not understand us or that they may not be equipped to provide us with the support we need. I believe that we do not have to accept that painful experiences and regretful choices of the past define us and our future. I believe that therapy can help us find the clarity and insight that is needed to obtain a better understanding of ourselves and our experiences as well as heal us. I believe that the first stage of healing begins with that first call to seek therapy.
I draw upon several theoretical orientations, the primary ones being Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Transactional Analysis Therapy (TAT), Gestalt Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I am also trained in EMDR Therapy, a therapy that has been found to be effective for trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). These approaches are grounded in research and have been found to be effective in creating positive results in therapy.
I take the time to listen and understand my clients and their experiences and formulate a treatment plan that works best and is specific to their unique needs as individuals. I ensure that I remain up-to-date with new and current research so that my clients have access to the best treatments to ensure and maintain high standards of service for my clients. I provide individual counselling in a wide variety of areas which include but are not limited to depression, anxiety, trauma, life crisis, abuse, grief. I also support adult survivors of adverse childhood experiences and suicide loss survivors.
