Oluyinka Marcus M A (Certified Professional Counselor-CPC) – Advocating Wellness and Community Support
Oluyinka Marcus is a Counseling Therapist and Psychotherapist based in Calgary. She founded Hope Alive Counseling Services in 2006 with a mission to foster thriving relationships. Her dedication to being a voice of hope in her therapy work is fueled by a passion for creating awareness of emotional and psychological well-being, emotional intelligence, spiritual growth, and addressing generational and cultural issues within family relationships.
In addition to her counseling practice, Oluyinka leads Hope Alive Ministry, a charity organization that actively supports the Faith and African communities. Through outreach events, a YouTube Talk Series, and complimentary counseling therapy sessions, the organization addresses personal and relational challenges.
Oluyinka is actively involved in professional associations, being a member of the Professional Association of Christian Counsellors and Psychotherapists (PACCP) and Association of Counseling Therapists of Alberta (ACTA)serving as a board member.
Beyond her therapeutic roles, Oluyinka is a writer and a speaker, co-authoring the book ‘Walk With Me – A 30 Day Devotional’ with her daughter, Oluyomi. This insightful publication combines poetry and practical strategies to navigate and overcome negative emotions.
Her holistic approach reflects a commitment to advocating personal and relationship wholeness, and providing crucial family and community support. Such community organizations she is involved with include Nigerian Canadian Association of Calgary NCAC) serving as a Trustee member and Ruth’s House, a center dedicated to supporting the African community in domestic violence issues.
