Hi! My name is Sharon and I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist committed to supporting individuals on their mental health journey with care, compassion, and cultural sensitivity. I am passionate about creating a safe, affirming space where you feel seen, heard, and empowered to show up as your whole self.
I grew up in an African community where conversations about mental health were not often had. That experience shaped my deep commitment to challenging stigma and increasing mental health awareness. I believe that therapy should be accessible, affirming, and rooted in understanding the complexities of culture, identity, and community.
My practice is grounded in an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, and intersectional lens. I understand that healing does not happen in isolation—it is connected to culture, history, and lived experience. I work collaboratively with clients to unpack emotional challenges, build self-awareness, and move toward growth and resilience.
I am a Registered Psychologist and I have over ten years experience working with teens and adults in public, non-profit and community mental health services. I understand seeking help is not always easy and I would like to commend you for taking this courageous step to explore therapy for your wellness journey. While life presents us with various challenges, sometimes we can feel overwhelmed or stuck in patterns that hinder our growth and happiness, I am here to support you every step of the way with compassion, respect and a safe space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences without fear of judgement using a culturally-informed approach.
My areas of expertise include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Internal Family Systems, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and Narrative therapy.
I support clients with depression, anxiety, trauma and other behavioral issues.
I believe in the power of empathy and connection in the therapeutic process. By working collaboratively, we can explore your concerns, identify your strengths, and develop effective strategies to help you navigate life’s ups and downs.
I am looking forward to support you in your journey towards positive change and emotional well-being.

Life is unpredictable, and resilience is crucial in facing its challenges. I believe in the inherent strength within each of us and am here to guide you through a journey of empowerment, healing, and growth. If you’re ready to take the next step, let’s get started together!
My name is Shirwa Ali. I am a psychologist born in Somalia but raised here. I am passionate about helping others especially those who grew up in a similar reality. I am committed to helping people navigate their mental and emotional challenges using evidence based practices. I firmly believe that every person deserves a safe and supportive environment to explore their inner world and develop strategies for personal growth and healing. My goal is to walk with you on your journey with compassion, empathy and non-judgment.
Difficult days are inevitable on life’s journey. You may be having challenges in a relationship, struggling to cope with past or recent trauma, being a victim of abuse, bullying or race-based trauma, going through a divorce or separation, worried about your relationship with children or other family members, experiencing anxiety, self-doubt, depression, stress, grief or just going through a difficult period of your life. Whatever the challenge or struggle, you don’t have to suffer in silence. IT IS OK TO NOT BE OK!! Reassuringly, there is collaborative support available to get you through.
Relieve yourself of the burden and embrace the opportunity to explore a new version of yourself with me, Latoya Reid: an experienced, non-judgemental, authentic and empathetic psychotherapist. I have worked extensively with diverse populations. My lived experiences help me to validate, value and understand each client, and build a therapeutic alliance.
As part of your healing journey and self-improvement, I partner with you as a guide by using your strengths and inner skills as a road map. As your psychotherapist, I will employ a tailored multidimensional approach that takes into consideration your trauma and cultural context, while collaboratively selecting therapeutic tools to cultivate wholeness.
Whether we believe it or not, our lived experiences have created a core belief about ourselves and influences a core language we use to describe ourselves, which prevents us from being our authentic self or the desire to change. Here’s a truth, you have permission. You have the permission to change, to grow, to develop, to advocate for what you need, create new habits and, to unlearn and learn again. The beauty in the journey is you don’t have to do it alone and I’m here to journey with you.
I believe that you know your story best. Utilizing modalities such as CBT, Solution focused and Narrative therapy to support you bringing meaning to your lived experiences. I support individuals with navigating through life transitions, anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, spirituality, trauma and more.
It is my desire to hold space for you in the therapeutic relationship and that you feel heard, validated, affirmed and at times challenged all in a joint effort to get you where you want to be holistically.
Whether it’s anxiety from relationships, pressure from work, or a disconnect between your values and decisions, we all can feel lost at times. Maybe you know exactly where you desire change, or you are uncertain and don’t know where to start, I’m here to help! My goal is to work alongside you to create a space for you to engage in self-discovery, process life events, unlearn unhelpful beliefs and behaviours, build coping skills, and work towards inner peace that often feels eluding. Together we can re-gain a sense of control over your life and mental health as no matter what’s led you here, I believe in the human capacity to adapt and grow with the right support.
My expertise is BIPOC individuals in the 16 – 35+ age range navigating relationship issues, self-exploration, life and career transitions, trauma, self-esteem issues, stress, anxiety, and family conflict. You being here is a big step, as I know from personal experience finding a therapist who “gets you” can be overwhelming, especially for those of us from racialized communities. During our time together, we will explore your current circumstances and create a plan for moving you closer to where you desire to be.

Bunkola was born in Nigeria, raised in Toronto, Ontario. She moved to Edmonton Alberta to complete her Masters in Social Work- Clinical Specialization – at the University of Calgary. She is a mother of two and has been working as a Mental Health Therapist for over three years.
Bunkola is cognizant that therapy is a joint process and encourages the individuals she works with to be the guiding force behind the desired change and healing effort. She believes that people are experts in their own lives and that they possess latent strengths to combat challenges impacting their mental health. Bunkola’s practice is founded upon the idea that the journey to healing begins with a step, cultivating trusting relationships, and holding space for unique stories of youth, adults, and families.
Hello!
My name is Ruta and I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist with Indigenous Psychological Services.
My parents immigrated to Canada from a small country in Africa called Eritrea in the early 80’s and I’ve had the privilege of growing up on Treaty 6 land. I believe that everyone has a unique identity and I like to support clients by being present and providing a safe and non-judgemental space. I work from a collaborative and culturally sensitive lens, incorporating different modalities to best fit my clients needs. This includes, trauma informed practices, mindfulness, EMDR, trauma focused CBT, DBT, art expression, play therapy and person-centered therapy. I currently work with individuals ages 10+ and groups.
